We have looked at going to a holiday camp like Pontins but none will take us without someone over 25. We are in Hertfordshire and want somewhere not too far to drive to (2-4 hours). We were hoping to find a good camp-site near the coast who take groups like ours. Any recommendations?

If you think about it, people go on holiday for a break away from the “norm” and tend to go to the coast for some peace and quiet. Imagine camping next to a group of noisy boisterous teenagers, and being kept awake all night. Suddenly, your dream holiday, (that you’ve worked all year for) becomes a nightmare, and “the holiday from hell.” It is for that reason camp site owners object to groups of young single people, as the families tend to demand their money back, after their holiday has been ruined.
Might I suggest you try a youth hostel? There, activities suitable for young people can be arranged, and your behaviour will be properly monitored.
I am not suggesting for a moment that you are a bunch of unruly hooligans, but I’m not a campsite owner either. I can only say, I wouldn’t accept a group of 18 year olds either, as I have stayed with my children, on a campsite nearby a group of rowdy youngsters, and it WASN’T a pleasant experience. I demanded my money back!!!!
