what is the least expensive way to reroof a flat metal roof?
the darn roof keeps leaking into half of my house. i have been up there repeatedly tarring and membraning the seams. i must be missing something cause the water keeps pouring in. can anyone tell me a very inexpensive way to do something to stop the hidden leaks. i have to do this work myself and as cheap as possible.

How flat is your roof? The first thing I would consider is re-pitching it so the water actually runs off the roof. What climate do you live in?
What kind of metal? Corrugated? Standing seam?
For literally flat roofs there is of course “rolled roofing” which is basically very strong rubber. You’d have to take off the metal, replace any boards that have rotted etc. and put that down.
If its possible, re-pitch the roof to at least a 5/12 pitch and you can use inexpensive corrugated metal (about $15 a sheet in my area of the world). Metal should never be put on a roof of 4/12 or less!
Depending on how large your roof is I would definitely consider DIY to save money however, make sure it’s done right or you’ll be wasting money in the long run.
By the way, do you have homeowners insurance? I’d check into that if anything was damaged or ruined. It may even pay to have it fixed professionally.
Hope this helps.
