got a new roof installed and its been between 40-60 degrees and i noticed some of the shingles look a a little rippled and turned up on some of the corners. how long before they relax and will be totally flat like most other roofs that i see?

Depends on the brand and quality. The good ones should not have been curled ivery much n the first place once installed. If they are the “wind tab” variety they have a thin ribbon of asphalt sealer just under the visible shingle and on the one underneath that when the weather gets warm will cause the upper shingle to seal and stick to the bottom one. If your shingles appear very curled though and especially “rippled” might want the roofer to come back and straighten that out as that is not normal. Hot weather will cause the wind tabs to make them stick better, but doubt that they will lay down too much if they are sticking up as they are designed “not to curl” for as long as possible over their lifespan. The old plain asphalt shingles used to start curling up after just a few years, but the modern fiberglass reinforced ones should not be doing so very much. Wind can catch under them and either tear them off, or bend them up if then are not flat.
