The interior walls are wood panels, even the ceiling. The sunken living room has beams on the ceiling It kind of reminds me of Frank Lloyd Wright. The room is a little dark. The carpet is beige. There is also a fire place. Really large windows, floor to ceiling ,on the south wall.

I see there are mostly black / dark roofs on homes. Doesn’t black / dark colors absorb more heat? In a time where saving energy is such a concern, why arent MFG’s making WHITE and or reflective shingles instead of heat absorbing ones? Esp in the south.

We bought a house 8 years ago where the garage was changed to a kitchen about a year before we bought it. We bought the house without a problem, but as we’re coming to sell it now we’re told that a mortgage lender wouldn’t lend on it? It’s single skin brick with a pitched, tiled roof. Were the building regs different back then?
