For a structure that is Concrete reinforced framed and has a flat roof; how is the roof covered and protected from water ***********? the type of building you would use a car park or even a small house?

there is a leak in my roof but i cant seem to find the source. i’ve tared up alot of my roof attempting to find the leak but i havent found it. can you help me.

I have a “Farm House” that is leaking over the staircase going to the upstairs. The house has a few layers of shingles already and a flat tar roof over the staircase …. the flat roof has a valley from the peak of the main house … (sorry for a bad description) ..

I’ve tared the flat roof and valley once already, but it is still leaking – I cannot afford to put another roof on till next year – so how can I fix this? Can I take off the flat roof and replace it – and build a valley back to the shingled roof — without taking that off?

Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated!! I cannot afford much right now – since I’m saving for the entire replacement. Its a 110 yr old house, with good plaster and woodwork, so I don’t want it to get ruined.

I live in Amarillo, TX– the closest larger city is ABQ, NM. I want to cut an outside door where an existing window is now. The door will exit my bedroom and enter onto a flat roof where I want to build a deck. Can any of you give me a guestimate on how much it would cost to cut the door, rip out the window, frame the door, install a door (excluding the price of the door), and repairing any damaged drywall. I will paint the drywall, and hang the door.

Also, is there anything I need to know to make this job less expensive? For example, would a certain sized door, or type of door make it less expensive?
